Walid Regragui will not join Al-Ittihad. The Saudi club has decided to rule out the Moroccan coach’s profile to replace Portuguese Sergio Conceição, after a particularly disappointing season that ended without a single trophy.
The future of the Jeddah club’s bench is generating much speculation, but the file of the former Atlas Lions selector is now set aside. The team’s management has chosen to exclude the coach from its final list of candidates. No official negotiations were even initiated between the two parties and discussions never went beyond the evaluation stage.

Experiencing disappointment on both national and continental stages, Al-Ittihad finished in fifth place in its championship. To succeed Portuguese coach Sergio Conceição, who left at the end of the season, the managers are now pursuing other leads. According to information shared by the Saudi press, the management wishes to proceed with the utmost discretion on this sensitive matter. The identity of the future coach will only be revealed once all contractual procedures are finalized.
