This Sunday, March 10 at 3 a.m., Morocco will revert to legal time (GMT) , delaying the time by 60 minutes, announced the Ministry of Digital Transition and Public Administration Reform. This change occurs every year on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, which will begin on Monday or Tuesday next.
Unlike many countries in the world, especially in Europe, Morocco did not change time last night. It therefore keeps the GMT+1 time.
The issue of the definitive change in legal time, the subject of a strong controversy in Morocco, is under examination within the government, assured the government spokesman.
After announcing the return to GMT time on April 19 for the occasion of Ramadan, Morocco will return on May 31 at 2:00 AM to the GMT+1 time zone. The legal time of the kingdom will be advanced by 60 minutes (GMT +1).
Morocco has not yet changed time. An automatic bug on mobile phones and computers is responsible for the general panic that occurred on this Eid day.
