France reveals its major military clients: Morocco is on the list
Morocco is among the clients highlighted in the new review of French arms exports. In 2025, France secured €21.2 billion in orders, including H225M Caracal helicopters purchased by the Kingdom.
The 2026 report on arms exports, which the French Ministry of the Armed Forces has just made public, places the Moroccan order among the contracts that marked 2025.

Morocco appears on a list comprising several major military markets: 26 Rafale Marine jets for India, two Scorpène submarines for Indonesia, a new frigate for Greece, air-defense systems for several European countries, and SCORPION vehicles for Belgium and Luxembourg.
In total, French defense manufacturers recorded €21.2 billion in orders from abroad in 2025, practically as much as the previous year. This amount therefore does not represent Moroccan purchases, but all contracts concluded by France.
Morocco ranks in the leading export sector
The presence of the Moroccan contract is all the more notable because the H225M helicopters belong to the sector that dominates French sales. Aerospace alone accounted for 40% of orders in 2025, ahead of naval equipment (19%) and land systems (12%).
Morocco ordered ten H225M Caracal helicopters for the Royal Air Force. These aircraft are notably intended to replace the Pumas that have been in use for more than forty years and to strengthen combat search-and-rescue capabilities.

The new report does not disclose the amount of the Moroccan contract. It does, however, place it within the overall performance of the French defense industry: alongside Indian Rafales, Indonesian submarines and major European contracts, the helicopters ordered by Rabat are among the markets selected to illustrate a year exceeding €21 billion.
