In Morocco, a party promises 1 million jobs and a minimum pension of 3,000 dirhams
One million jobs in five years and no pension below 3,000 dirhams. With the legislative elections approaching, the Party of Progress and Socialism (PPS) is putting forward several particularly ambitious social commitments.
Mohamed Nabil Benabdallah confirmed these objectives during his appearance on the Moroccan first channel’s program “Partisan Issues” (رهانات حزبية). The PPS secretary-general promises to create one million actual jobs over five years and raise the minimum retirement pension to 3,000 dirhams.

1,000 dirhams in social assistance
The program also provides for increasing to as much as 1,000 dirhams the support granted to families receiving direct social assistance. At the same time, the party wants to include within two years approximately 8.5 million people who would otherwise remain outside medical coverage.
In public services, the PPS cites 165,000 hires in education and healthcare over five years. These proposals are part of a program that the party presents as an alternative focused on employment, public services and purchasing power.

These commitments are not entirely new: Benabdallah had already unveiled in July the one million jobs, the minimum pension of 3,000 dirhams and social assistance increased to 1,000 dirhams. Their reaffirmation now places them at the heart of the PPS’s electoral campaign.
