Euro Morocco MRE Dirhams Exchange Rate 2026
The euro has regained some ground against the dirham at a time when many MREs are staying in Morocco. The increase remains modest, but it allows you to get slightly more dirhams when exchanging or transferring money.
The dirham depreciated by 0.4% against the euro between July 16 and 22, 2026, according to weekly indicators published by Bank Al-Maghrib. It also lost 0.5% against the US dollar during the same period.

The reference rate of the euro rose from 10.683 dirhams on July 16 to 10.703 dirhams on July 22. In practical terms, 1,000 euros represented approximately 10,683 dirhams at the beginning of the period, compared to 10,703 dirhams at the end, or about twenty additional dirhams.
The gain therefore remains limited for a small amount. However, it becomes more visible when MREs exchange several thousand euros to finance their holidays, help their family or settle major expenses in Morocco. On 5,000 euros, the theoretical difference reaches about a hundred dirhams.

In parallel, Morocco’s official foreign exchange reserves reached 496.8 billion dirhams on July 17. They increased by 0.3% in one week and by 22.6% over one year. They represented, in June, the equivalent of five months and 25 days of imports of goods and services.
