Marrakech, Rabat, Essaouira: easyJet strike hits flights to Morocco
The easyJet cabin crew strike is disrupting connections with Morocco this Saturday, August 15. At least three flights departing from France have been canceled: Lyon-Marrakech, Lyon-Rabat, and Bordeaux-Essaouira.
The first cancellations affected Lyon-Saint-Exupéry early in the morning. Flight U24477 to Marrakech, scheduled for 6:05 a.m., was canceled. The same happened to U24481 linking Lyon to Rabat. Both cancellations appear in Flightradar24’s flight history.

In Bordeaux, travelers heading to Essaouira are also affected. The official Bordeaux airport board, updated Saturday morning, lists the 7:15 p.m. EJU1933 flight to Essaouira as “canceled.”
However, not all flights to Morocco have been canceled. In Bordeaux, the easyJet departure to Marrakech at 8:15 p.m. was still scheduled on Saturday morning. The Nantes-Marrakech flight was also maintained, while the Nice-Marrakech flight was announced as delayed.
About forty flights canceled in France
The cancellations come amid a strike by easyJet France’s cabin crew. The SNPNC-FO, UNPNC-CFDT, and UNAC-CFE-CGC inter-union alliance called on flight attendants and stewards to stop work on August 15 and 16 after talks with management failed.
About forty flights departing from France are due to be canceled this Saturday, according to SNPNC-FO. A comparable number could be canceled on Sunday.

The unions are particularly criticizing schedule instability and last-minute changes. For its part, easyJet describes the action as an “opportunistic action” during the peak summer period. Travelers between France and Morocco should therefore check their flight status before heading to the airport, as further changes remain possible over the weekend.
