The Moroccan dirham rises against the euro
The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.4% against the euro and slightly depreciated by 0.1% against the US dollar between March 12 and 18, according to Bank Al-Maghrib.
On the foreign exchange market, no auction operation was carried out during this period. Official reserve assets reached 464 billion dirhams on March 13, up 0.6% week-on-week and 26.2% year-on-year, the Moroccan central bank said.
Bank Al-Maghrib’s interventions totaled an average of 157.5 billion dirhams per day, divided between 7-day advances, delivered pensions and guaranteed loans. On the interbank market, the average daily volume stood at 2.9 billion dirhams, with a stable rate at 2.25%.

On the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the MASI rose by 2.1% over the period, driven in particular by the banking, construction, telecommunications and transport sectors, despite an annual underperformance maintained at 7.1%.
