Morocco Automotive Exports Double Phosphate Revenue in 2026
Moroccan automotive exports reached 93.7 billion dirhams in the first half of 2026. They now represent more than double the sales of phosphates and derivatives.
Between January and June 2026, the automotive sector generated 93.655 billion dirhams in exports, compared with 79.807 billion one year earlier. The increase reached 17.4%, according to the Foreign Exchange Office.

At the same time, exports of phosphates and derivatives fell by 2.3%, from 46.481 to 45.428 billion dirhams. The automotive industry now generates slightly more than twice as much foreign currency as this historic sector.
Automotive sector widens the gap
Automotive manufacturing accounted for 37.934 billion dirhams, an increase of 26.7%. Wiring harness exports reached 35.050 billion, while exterior equipment exports rose by 49.9% to 2.952 billion.

On the phosphate side, raw mineral sales fell by 13.1% to 4.167 billion dirhams. Fertilizer exports declined by 1.7% to 33.577 billion, while phosphoric acid exports rose slightly to reach 7.685 billion.
