Morocco pulls out all the stops to seduce Bollywood stars
The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) is targeting Indian producers and companies to boost its visitor numbers. The Kingdom aims to quickly reach the milestone of 100,000 Indian visitors per year, a strategic threshold for the establishment of direct flights.

"India is the fastest growing market for Moroccan tourism," says Jamal Younes Kilito, the country’s national director. To consolidate this momentum against the West European market, discussions are now targeting Asian directors to make the country a preferred filming location.

To seduce this industry, the government is offering a 30% tax deduction. According to Uniidia, this benefit requires spending about one million dollars for 18 days of filming. The teams can also rent state-of-the-art equipment directly on site to avoid significant logistical transport.
Attendance is already showing a very encouraging increase, rising from 40,960 Indian tourists in 2024 to 53,697 in 2025. Crossing the threshold of 100,000 annual visitors is a condition for the long-awaited establishment of direct air links between the two nations.
