Morocco Quad Accident: Teen Dies on Vacation
Yasmin, a 13-year-old teenager living in the Mechelen region of Belgium, lost her life near Nador in a quad accident. On vacation in Morocco with her family, she had initially asked to be simply photographed next to the vehicle.
The tragedy occurred Wednesday in the surroundings of Arkmane. The teenager was participating in an outing by the seaside with her sister, a cousin and her aunt when they encountered a young man riding a quad.

According to a family member interviewed by HLN, Yasmin wanted to take a photo with the vehicle. The driver, whom she did not know, allegedly then offered her a short ride. After hesitating and refusing once, she eventually accepted.
Quad thrown off the cliff
Shortly after their departure, the young driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle under circumstances that remain to be determined. The quad left the trajectory before being thrown from the cliffs into the sea.
Emergency services arrived at the scene, but the teenager succumbed to her injuries. The driver, also a minor according to available information, was hospitalized in serious condition. His vital prognosis remains uncertain.
An investigation has been opened to precisely reconstruct the sequence of events and establish any responsibilities. The tragedy also reignites local questions about the regulation of quad use and rental in tourist areas near cliffs.
