The United States prepares to deliver 10 HIMARS to Morocco in 2027
Ten HIMARS rocket launchers intended for Morocco are now listed as “under contract” in a U.S. Army document. Their storage, inspection and maintenance are included in the logistical requirements planned for fiscal year 2027.
The document was published on July 29 on SAM.gov, the official U.S. government procurement platform, under reference W31P4Q-26-R-0050. It was issued by the Army Contracting Command and concerns logistical support for HIMARS and M270 launchers.
The draft specifications provide for their handling at Red River Army Depot, in Texas. The operations include storage, inspections, testing and maintenance work before their assignment to U.S. forces or foreign customers.

For fiscal year 2027, the table of equipment under contract lists 10 HIMARS for Morocco, 22 for Australia, 18 for Taiwan and seven for Italy. Sixteen M270A2 launchers intended for the United Kingdom are also included in this program.
Ten of the 18 launchers now under contract
The new development lies in the status of these ten systems. In April 2023, the State Department had only authorized a possible sale of 18 HIMARS to Morocco. This procedure, by itself, did not constitute confirmation of a definitive order.
The new document now establishes that ten launchers are covered by a contract and have entered the U.S. logistical system. However, it does not explicitly set out the date on which they will be handed over to the Royal Armed Forces. Their inclusion in the fiscal year 2027 program, which runs from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027, indicates that their delivery is being prepared during this period.
The program authorized by Washington reaches a maximum amount of 524.2 million dollars. It includes up to 40 ATACMS M57 tactical missiles, 36 M31A2 guided munitions and 36 M30A2 munitions, as well as vehicles, communications equipment, spare parts and training for Moroccan military personnel.

ATACMS missiles can reach a target located approximately 300 kilometers away. The FAR have already begun familiarizing themselves with the U.S. launcher: Moroccan military personnel were trained in its use during African Lion 2025.
The other eight HIMARS included in Washington’s initial authorization do not appear in the contractual requirements currently known. At this stage, the U.S. source therefore confirms ten systems under contract and their logistical preparation, but not yet the delivery of all 18 launchers requested by Morocco.
