In Ceuta, the doors are closing; she opens hers to 400 migrants a day
In Ceuta, Sabah Hamed has turned her home into a humanitarian aid point. She receives around 400 migrants there every day, the vast majority of them Moroccan, offering them food, clean clothes and the chance to wash.
Since Saturday, queues have been forming outside her home, located in the Los Rosales neighborhood. The people welcomed there receive water, hot meals, shoes, hygiene products and care for minor injuries.

Sabah Hamed cannot accommodate them overnight due to a lack of space. Nevertheless, her home allows people who had sometimes neither eaten nor been able to wash for several days to regain a minimum of dignity.
“At the very least, we are trying to ensure that they can shower,” she told Europa Press. She says she is particularly concerned about minors and pregnant women.
The terrace transformed into a shower
To preserve everyone’s privacy, men wash in a space set up on the terrace, while women use the indoor bathroom. The facilities are cleaned constantly to allow people to use them one after another.
The aid relies mainly on donations from local residents. Food, clothing and hygiene products arrive at Sabah Hamed’s home, where she also redistributes supplies kept from previous humanitarian campaigns, reports Antena 3.
This is not the first time this resident of Ceuta has mobilized. Her involvement during the May 2021 migration crisis earned her the María de Eza award in 2022.

Faced with the new emergency, Sabah Hamed is calling on residents to continue donating. “We must help, out of humanity,” she insists.
