Moroccan Dirham Strengthens Against Euro - June 2026 Update
The dirham strengthened against the euro over the past week, according to the latest figures published by Bank Al-Maghrib.
The Moroccan dirham has gained ground against the euro. According to the latest weekly indicators from Bank Al-Maghrib, the Moroccan currency appreciated by 0.5% against the European currency between June 18 and 24, 2026.

According to the reference rates published by Bank Al-Maghrib, the euro was worth 10.724 dirhams on June 16, compared to 10.668 dirhams on June 24. For reference, 1,000 euros represented approximately 10,724 dirhams on June 16, compared to 10,668 dirhams on June 24, a difference of nearly 56 dirhams.
Bank Al-Maghrib also notes that over the same period, the dirham depreciated by 1.7% against the US dollar. The central bank indicates that no auction operations were carried out on the foreign exchange market during this week.

This development comes as Morocco’s official foreign exchange reserves remain solid. As of June 19, they stood at 491.1 billion dirhams, up 0.1% over a week and 21.2% over a year.
